Window replacement Spokane $1,500 tax credit
President Obama signs a huge stimulus bill that will award up to $1,500 for energy saving home improvements. Energy saving purchases include furnaces, new windows and doors, and insulation. This bill was expanded from a similar bill a couple of years back, but offers five times more relief to homeowners. Guidelines for recieving the tax credit make it clear that conserving energy is the #1 priority. New window replacement U-values and solar heat gain coefficient values will need to be almost 15% lower than existing energy star ratings. These strict parameters will force window manufacturers to develop better products for consumers. It will be up to contractors to ensure homeowners are purchasing qualifying windows in order to obtain this tax incentive. Homeowners should be very aware of these guidelines and make sure it is written in their contracts to avoid losing the tax credit. Aside from better products or services, what is good about this incentive is that it encourages homeowners to become more energy-conscious and energy-efficient. This would really get the green living the kind of attention it needs.

Thats good news! Inexpensive exterior replacement projects are not only crucial to a home’s regular upkeep, but are also expected to recoup close to 70 percent of costs. Specific exterior projects such as siding, window and door replacements are part of regular home maintenance, so many homeowners are already undertaking them.
